10 nights and 11 days

This adventure begins in the Southern Tier of the country, starting in the ancient city of Abrbaminch. From there our journey takes us to the Tribal destinations of Omo Valley to enjoy the cultural mosaic of people, wild life and konso World Heritage Site. Finally, the tour will continue to the coffee plantations that witnessed Ethiopia is the birth place of coffee.

Up on Your arrival you will meet and escorted to your hotel by our staff. After a break, enjoy a tour of Addis Ababa, a pleasant capital city with wide jacaranda-edged avenues, interesting museums and lively markets. Visit the National Museum, with its many archaeological findings including the famous complete fossil remains of 3.2 million year-old “Lucy."

Later in the afternoon, visit one of the best traditional restaurants in the city, Habesha 2000 Restaurant, for culinary activity or similar place in culinary institution. The cuisine of Ethiopia is one of the world's best kept secrets. Ethiopian food is a spicy mix of vegetable and lentil stews and slow-simmered meats. Straddling the Rift Valley of East Africa, Ethiopia has been called the "Land of Bread and Honey." Here, you will experience the Ethiopian cooking traditions. At the evening, you will have a welcome dinner ceremony while attending an Ethiopian traditional music.

After a morning of leisure fly to southern Ethiopia which is like stepping through the looking glass into a time that has long passed. Discover amazing tribal communities which have seen little change over the last thousand years. On arrival into Arba Minch, visit the Dorze tribe and their village, famed for their beehive shaped houses and their weaving skills. The Dorze’s are farmers, who prevent soil erosion by ingenious terracing of the mountainsides.

After breakfast enjoy a refreshing boat trip in one of the Great Rift Valley twin lakes on Lake Chamo which is separated by a ridge called the “ Bridge of God”, which is home to huge crocodiles, hippos and a variety of birdlife. Then drive to Konso and you will visit Konso, named after the Konso people, which is known for its religious traditions, waga sculptures, and nearby fossil beds (the latter an archaeological site of early hominids). The site was designated an UNESCO World Heritage List on September 30, 1997 in recognition for the universal cultural significance of its agricultural terracing practice.

Then drive to the small town of Key Afer for the weekly tribal market. This is a colorful and intriguing experience where you will witness the Ari, Bena, Tsemay and Hamer tribes trade their goods

Morning excursion to the Mago National Park. The Mago National Park is located on the eastern bank of the Omo River and ranges in altitude from 450 to 2,528 meters above sea level. We tour the park to view wild life. Also drive Mursi village to visit and appreciate the very attractive culture of Mursi tribe. They are renowned for the strange custom followed by their women who, on reaching maturity, have their lower lips slit and circular clay discs inserted.

Afternoon, drive to the direction of Turmi. Along the way we pass through a vast meadowland with shrubs and “umbrella” acacia trees. Turmi, which is the base to visit the Hamer village. Hamers have remarkable hairstyles made from ochre, water, and binding resin. They rub the mixture into their hair then twist the strands repeatedly to create Coppery-colored locks. This is a sign of wealth and welfare. Hamers are considered to be masters of body decoration.

After breakfast, we drive to yabelo on the along the way visiting the Cushitic speaking Erbore tribe and their villages. The Erbore people are well known for adorning themselves with beads and aluminum jewelry.

This day we will drive to one of the Yirgachefe coffee farmers cooperative union, as this season is harvesting time you will exchange your expertise with the farmers and executives, on the whole coffee processing. And depending on your interest you will also participate specially in picking of the red cherries, and you will get explanation for the whole process how to pick, how to remove the mucilage through the process of fermentation and how to Stored in a warehouse until delivery to the central market in Addis Ababa.

The Freshly hand-picked cherries are sorted before pulping and are sold to the primary cooperatives for wet processing Fresh clean cherries arriving at pulperies are pulped and allowed to ferment naturally. The fermented coffee is washed with clean running water, soaked in clean water and then dried to retain about 11.5 percent moisture. Overall the Ethiopian

Yirgacheffe coffee is very spicy and fragrant, often with a slightly chocolaty or nutty quality. Subtleties include notes of citrus or tangerine (which is why it is often preferred for iced coffee).

This morning drive to the center of Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union. SCFCU is a skilled organization with the responsibility of processing support, marketing, and the commercializing of coffee for 45 cooperatives comprising nearly 87,000 farmers. It is well known for its production of garden coffee. After Lunch you will have the traditional coffee ceremony with the family members in the farmers house which involves much ceremony including the coffee roasting, burning of incense as the coffee beans are pounded using a mortar and pestle and brewed in a narrow-spouted coffee pot. Small cups with no handles are used for serving the coffee which may be accompanied by popcorn or other food items. In the afternoon drive back to the lodge for your overnight. More than 30 percent of the country's washed coffee comes from the Sidama area, which is known for its floral flavors. Also, attend making bread from the steam of false banana tree which is the staple food of the Sidama people.

This morning board your 4x4 vehicle and drive south into the Great Rift Valley. Passing wonderful scenery highlighting large lakes to the town of Awassa. This morning visit the Castel’s Vineyard around Lake Ziway. A unique opportunity for wine-lovers who wish to discover the Ethiopian wines and grape farms. This vineyard is found 160 km south of Addis. For anyone who still doubts that grapes can be grown in Ethiopia, seeing these 120 hectares (nearly 300 acres) of row after row of vines should convert the non-believers.

Later, enjoy lunch at a restaurant on Ziway. Lake Ziway which offers a variety of bird life and view local fishermen plying their trade on the lake. Then continue driving to Debre Zeit to check in at the Kuriftu Resort and Spa. Surrounded by Lake Kuriftu on one side and beautiful tropical garden on the other, this is a slice of paradise. Enjoy Lakeview rooms with spacious terraces.

This morning after a relaxed time in the lodge, drive north to Addis Ababa arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon transfer to Awash Winery Factory at the heart of Addis Ababa. This factory produces eleven local brands, like; Axumite, Guder and Camille. Late this afternoon, treat yourself to try some of the most amazing local wineries with superb local cuisine in addition to the dinner at a wine house restaurant. This evening transfer to the airport for your late night flight back home.
